The Home Free quilt pattern uses Foundation Paper Piecing to create a traditional house block, framed by log cabin strips and half square triangles. It finishes at 18 inches (18.5” with seam allowances).
It makes a good scrap buster since the strips can use 2.5” left over pieces and the HST triangles can all use different fabric scraps.
This free pattern includes left and right facing house options, a piecing diagram, sewing order, FPP tips and fabric requirements for one block. Previous experience with FPP is needed, as the pattern does not provide instructions for the FPP technique.
Make an 18 inch pillow cover, mini quilt, or turn multiple blocks into a larger quilt. Can’t wait to see what you create!
